How much redundancy pay will I get in 2026/27?

Enter your age, service and weekly pay to see the legal minimum. Add the rest of your package if you know it.

127 employers have announced cuts so far in 2026.

Your employer: Cornish Lithium announced job cuts on 1 October 2026.

Use average pay in the 12 weeks before notice. The legal cap applies only to statutory pay.

Work out your whole package (optional)

Use the total enhanced award offered by your employer. Leave amounts blank if you do not know them.

Enter the whole redundancy award, including the statutory amount.

Leave blank to use the statutory minimum, up to 12 weeks. For whole-month notice with equal monthly salary, use the months field below instead. PENP assumes all estimated weeks are unworked; partial notice or garden leave is not modelled.

Use only when the contract states a whole number of months and salary is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. Do not also enter notice weeks.

Monthly pay uses HMRC's 30.42-day divisor for notice periods that are not whole months. Whole-month notice uses P=1 and D in months.

For pay in lieu only. Leave blank to use estimated notice pay. Enter 0 if none has been paid.

For PENP. Enter weekly pay or monthly salary to match the pay frequency selected. If left blank, monthly salary is estimated from weekly pay above.

For PENP with weekly or another pay period. Equal monthly salary uses 30.42 automatically, unless you enter whole-month notice above.

This estimates payment for days already owed. Use the holiday calculator if you need to work out accrual.

Five days is assumed if left blank.

Exclude the pay entered above. For NI, this is treated as employment pay spread over 12 months.

The employer must pay it into the scheme before paying you. The calculator caps this at the taxable qualifying award.

What the estimate covers

Statutory pay uses age in each completed year, the latest 20 years and the weekly cap. Enhanced pay, notice and holiday depend on your contract. Check the written breakdown from your employer.

Common questions

Who qualifies for statutory redundancy pay?

Employees normally need 2 full years of continuous service. Contractual pay may apply sooner.

What if I have worked for less than 2 years?

You do not normally qualify for statutory redundancy pay, but you may still be owed notice pay, holiday pay and wages.

Does TUPE reset my service?

A transfer under TUPE normally preserves continuous service, so time with the old employer can count.

Do fixed-term contracts count?

Yes. Non-renewal can count as a dismissal, and an employee with 2 years of continuous service may qualify.

Is there an upper age limit?

There is no upper age limit. Full years aged 41 or over count at one and a half weeks each.

What counts as a week's pay?

Use the average weekly pay in the 12 weeks before notice. Regular overtime and commission can count. Irregular hours may need a separate average.

How many years count?

Only the latest 20 full years of service count.

What if my employer cannot pay?

If your employer is insolvent, you can apply to the Redundancy Payments Service for eligible amounts.

How long do I have to claim?

A tribunal claim for unpaid statutory redundancy pay normally has a 6-month time limit from the end of employment. Check the current rules promptly.

Does enhanced pay replace statutory pay?

An enhanced award can be higher than the statutory minimum. Check whether the employer's figure is the total award or an addition to it.
